Wynona Lucas

Wynona E. Lucas of Magnolia, Texas went to meet the Lord on January 18, 2025 at 9:15 pm at home surrounded by her family at her side. Wynona was born in Lee County Iowa to Joseph F. and Ruth E. (Perkins) Grossman. On June 1, 1958 she was united in marriage to Bill Walker in which they were blessed with four children. They later divorced. On April 2, 1975 she was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Lucas; He preceded her in death on April 9, 2010. Of this union a son was born. Wynona was a 1957 graduate of Donnellson High School. She played basketball and went to State her Senior year. She was an avid reader of romance, western novels, putting puzzles together, doing sudoku puzzles, baking and making cookies with her grandchildren. After her marriage to Dick, they moved to Houston, Texas in1975. She and her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1976. She was a member of the Oakcrest UMC where she taught Sunday school to the elementary children. They then returned to Magnolia, Texas in 2006 to be closer to family. She was an active member of the Magnolia Methodist Church going to the Prayer Team meetings every week and helping out with the Rummage Sales. She met very special friends for life there. She was a huge Houston Texans and Astros fan and enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeye and NASCAR Tony Stewart. She is survived by her children: Sandy Andrews, Tracy Morgan (Bill), Mike Walker, David (Rhonda) Walker, Curtis Lucas (Alicia), Kirk (Debbie) Lucas, Susan Haynes, Lana Anderson (Tim) and Ed Butcher (son-in-law). Grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua, Randy, Alex, James, Jade, Derek, Justin, Jonathon, Alyssa, Kylie, Julie, Justin, Brian, James, Elizabeth, Kimberly, Matt, Hailey, Sarah, Gracie, Alec and Andrew. Great Grandchildren: Jordon, Jonah, Owen, Marissa, Maria, Halen, Nova, Dade, Trevor, Troy, Treydin, Sid, Nadia, Reme, Rhett, Wesson, Emerson, Sloan, Kerrington, Quinn, Blaine, Hudson, Elliana, Roman, Michael and Brianna. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Jemma, James, Elyse and Jonathon. Sisters: Betty Messerschmit, Janis Lind and Sister-in-law Dotty Grossman. She is also survived by cousins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Richard (Sonny) Grossman and Robert (Bob) Grossman. Sisters: Delores Kirkpatrick, Eileen Gaylord and Ruth Ellen Cahill. Brothers-in-law:Robert (Bob) Kirkpatrick, Paul Gaylord, Terry Cahill and Jamie Lind. Daughter Karen (Lucas) Waldrop and son-in-law Jim Waldrop. Daughter-in-law: Kelly Tyras, Son-in-law: George Haynes. Grandson-in-law: Joe Diaz. Great-great-grandson: Tatum Ross. Nephew: Curtis Luther. And her two beagles Punky and Dexter. Per Wynona's wishes there will be no services. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to Wynona's family and friends during this difficult time.
