Ralph Seifert

Ralph Seifert, 68 years old, passed away on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. Ralph was born in 1956, in Houston, Tx to the late Jane Broussard and was lovingly adopted and provided an amazing loving home by Lawrence Joe and Mildred “Mickey” Seifert. Ralph decided at seventeen years old to enlist in the United States Navy and traveled around the world as a hull technician and underwater welder. He spent many years in the trucking industry as a driver and dispatcher for McClatchy Bros in Houston. On August 6th, 1977, Ralph married the love of his life, Mary Sue McClosky Seifert, and they shared almost 48 years together until his passing. He was a devoted father to his two children, Justin Seifert and Stephanie Seifert Free. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping at Lake Travis during the early days and teaching them how to water ski. Ralph had a love for hunting, horses, and antique cars. Him and Mary would spend many years showing his beloved 1940 Ford pickup that he won numerous awards and won Best in Class at Houston Autorama in 2011. He passed his love for loud, fast, hot rod cars down to his children and grandchildren and together they would spend hours working on hot rods and attending car shows. Another one of Ralph’s passions was team roping where he would head for his son and many of his roping friends. One of his favorite team roping memories was on July 4th, 1999, he won the Booger Barter Team Roping where he won a truck, saddle, buckle and $4,000.00. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Ralph is survived by his wife, Mary McClosky Seifert, his children, Justin and Lauren Seifert, Stephanie and David Free, his grandchildren, Hunter Free, Haleigh Seifert, Stash Free, Levi Free, Jhett Seifert, and Larra Seifert. His sisters, Pam Eckhart and husband Michael, Rebecca “Beckey” Sacco and husband Mark, Linda Alexander and husband T.J. His brothers James “Jimmy” Hatfield and wife Kristina, and Terry Hatfield and wife Amy, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ralph is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lawrence and Mickey Seifert, his biological mother, Jane Broussard, his sister, Catherine Hatfield, and his father and mother-in-law, John and Alice McClosky. We will always carry your love and cherish our memories with you, until we meet again. A reception will be held at Plantersville Town Hall, and all are welcome to come to share memories of Ralph with his family. Please wear bright colors in honor of Ralph’s vibrant personality.
