Norberto Martinez

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Norberto Calata Martinez, who passed away on July 21, 2026 at the age of 66. Norberto was deeply loved and admired by family, friends and the community. He was born in Atotonilco el Bajo, Jalisco. Norberto's mother, Socorro Calata de Martinez, preceded him in death when he was only 16. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Angelica Martinez. Norberto was married to Luz Martinez for 30 years. Together they built a warm and loving home in Plantersville, Texas. It was were they raised their daughter, Karen Salinas, along with many animals including dogs, cats, donkeys and more. Norberto was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and affectionately known by many nicknames including Beto, Robert and Papi. Norberto will be remembered for his ability to make everyone laugh. He was a hard worker, dedicated to his business, Norbert Concrete Work, since 1980. He taught us how to be humble and willing to help others. His memory will live on through the lives he impacted. Norberto leaves behind his wife, Luz Martinez, and daughter, Karen Salinas married to Christian Salinas, along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren from step-children he loved as his own. Our hearts and prayers go out to Norberto Martinez's family and friends during this difficult time. May Norberto rest in peace and continue to watch over us all from above.
