Mary Pendlum

Mary Patricia “Pat” Pendlum passed away on April 23, 2023. She departed this earthly life at the age of 84 while surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on March 17, 1939, to Louis and Dorothy Lang in Wheelersburg, Ohio. In between her junior and senior year of high school, Pat met and fell in love with Gerald “Jerry” Pendlum. The two were married on August 23, 1958, and they had five children together - Marilyn, Donnie, Deanna, Karen, and Jason. Pat and Jerry were blessed to celebrate 62 beautiful years of marriage. Pat’s love for her family was only exceeded by her love of God. Her deeply rooted faith was evident by her actions and words as she was always quick to speak kindly, extend forgiveness, and see the good in people. With a heart for helping others, Pat fondly enjoyed her service as a long-time volunteer with the Jersey Village Fire Department. She served alongside her husband for many years which brought the couple great joy and resulted in many friendships. A love of travel and birds was known to bring a smile to Pat’s face, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. These family gatherings always included lots of delicious food and spirited conversations. She found great pleasure in the simple things in life, such as a hot cup of coffee, especially when it was shared with someone she loved. Family was always greeted with a sincere hug and bright eyes that clearly conveyed Pat’s gentle spirit. The memories of time spent together will be deeply cherished by Pat’s family and those who knew her. Pat is survived by her children Marilyn Neisch, Donnie Pendlum, Deanna Pulido (Joel), Karen Kurtin (Kurt), and Jason Pendlum; grandchildren Julie Haro (Ricky), Michael Neisch (Mandy), Andrew Neisch (Bethany), Olivia Smith (Zach), Emily Pulido, Ryan Pulido, Samuel Kurtin, Anna Kurtin, Gerald “Jerry” Kurtin, and Timothy “Timmy” Kurtin; and great-grandchildren Levi Neisch, Abby Neisch, Eden Neisch, and Luke Neisch. Pat is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Pendlum; parents Louis and Dorothy Lang; siblings Casey Lang, Phyllis Hock, and Donnie Lang; and her cherished son-in-law, Dan Neisch. A rosary prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. with a funeral mass following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29th at St Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church in Magnolia, Texas. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to Mary's family and friends during this difficult time. No services are scheduled through the funeral home.
