Mark Christian Azar May 20, 1960 – November 10, 2025 With deep love and very heavy hearts, we share the passing of Mark Christian Azar, who left this world peacefully in his sleep on November 10, 2025. Born May 20, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, Mark lived a life as big, bold, and unforgettable as the man himself. We’re sure if there was a line to Heaven, he's already made his way to the front, flashed a limo card to get into VIP and explained how he’s looking for his sister and is positive shes in there. From the time he was a kid selling candy to classmates, Mark had a gift for connecting with people. He could spark a conversation with anyone, brighten a day without trying, and turn complete strangers into instant friends. His presence hit you the second he walked into the room warm, loud, hilarious, mischievous, and full of life. Mark’s biggest strength was his heart. He loved deeply without hesitation. His hugs could make you feel safe, his jokes could pull you out of the darkest moment, and his loyalty made everyone feel like they mattered. Whether you knew him for ten years or ten minutes, you walked away with a smile and a very interesting story. He lived freely and fearlessly laughing, stirring things up, bending the rules, and making memories people will be telling for generations. He moved through life with a spirit uniquely his: wild, loving, loud, stubborn, generous, slightly inappropriate, and somehow always well-intentioned. Mark surely had a grand welcome in heaven, reuniting with his father, Philip H. Azar; mother, Darlene Conrad Azar Rubinoff; three brothers Phil, Mike, and Jimmy; and his sweet sister, Dolly. This is where he’s undoubtedly catching everyone up, retelling stories with a few “creative edits,” and organizing something that probably wasn’t on Heaven’s agenda. Mark was many things to many people, but his proudest titles were Dad and Poppa. To his children Mark, Michael, Jake, Philip, and Miranda, he was a larger than life source of love, chaos, wisdom, and "Markisms." To his grandchildren Alexys, Lynkinn, Blayden, Easton, and Jake he was “Poppa,” their hero, their spoiler-in-chief, and the man who never said no (and definitely said yes when he shouldn’t have). He also leaves behind a family he loved deeply his sister's Diane and Delores, his Aunt Nancy, a brother Robert, his other “sister” Kathy, nemerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and even exes and ex-in-laws; who all held a special place in his enormous heart. If you were related to Mark, even loosely, he claimed you proudly forever. Mark loved togetherness more than anything. His two favorite songs were “Celebrate” and "We are Family" which both make perfect sense, because he believed life was supposed to be loud, joyful, and celebrated with the people you love. And like his favorite color, yellow, he brought brightness, warmth, and light everywhere he went. His legacy is laughter, wild stories, unforgettable moments, and love that reached everyone lucky enough to know him. The space he filled in this world can never be replaced.
