David Daniel

David Lee Daniel, age 72, passed away on April 22, 2026 in Houston, TX. David was born November 9, 1953 in Houston, TX to Kenneth “Buster” Daniel and Robbie Mozelle Brown. David “DD” was the greatest man most people who knew him had ever met. Full of life from his earliest days, he was a rowdy, mischievous boy with a gift for making everything more fun. As a teenager, those same qualities carried him straight into his people and his passions — riding dirt bikes, camping trips, and concerts with his closest friends. David loved the river — a canoe, his closest friends, and a good time that could stretch all day. He loved the deer lease, where the bonds between him and his boys had been forged over decades of good times. He loved cooking barbecue — the whole ritual of it, the smoke, the music, his people gathered around. Music was the thread woven through every chapter of his life. David loved playing the music that made people happy, got them on their feet, singing along and making memories. Wherever David went, happiness followed. He never met a stranger. Whether you’d known him thirty years or thirty minutes, David made you feel seen and welcomed. Life dealt David his share of loss and hardship, but he refused to let it dim him. He was always the one lifting the mood, even when he had every reason not to. That kind of strength is rare. That kind of love for the people around you is rarer still. At the absolute center of his heart were two people: his daughter, Kimberly, and his granddaughter, Larkin. His most important role in this life was his role of Daddy and Pawpaw. They were his stars — the ones who gave every good thing he did its deepest meaning. The love David had for Kimberly and Larkin was the kind that doesn’t end. He will remain beside them, guide them, and protect them through every chapter of their lives still to come. David is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Graeter and husband Chris of Houston, TX; granddaughter Larkin Graeter of Houston, TX; sister Sandra Greer of Comfort, TX; nieces Deedra Owens and Tara Clouse; nephew Danny Greer; and great nieces and nephews Colbey, Weston, Whitney, Josey, and Coco. David was also blessed with so many wonderful friends that he considered family. David was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth “Bo” Daniel; and nephews Brent and Heath Greer.
