Amy Young

Amy Wilson Young was born in Opelika, Alabama and passed away on October 21, 2025 in Magnolia, Texas. She was 66 years old. She shared her life with her beloved husband of 46 years, Ray Young. Together they built a loving home and raised three beautiful children: Matthew Young and his wife Liz; Wilson Young and his wife Karissa; and Addie Young Sellers and her husband Jacob. Amy always had a passion for cooking and sewing. She spent countless hours trying out new recipes, as well as making her own, creating beautiful projects for loved ones and friends, and growing a variety of peppers and plants. Amy loved all animals, but she had a special place in her heart for cats from an early age. She raised many cats over her life and could not resist taking them in to love and nurture. Her most joyful moments were those spent with her grandchildren, Colton and Nicholas (children of Matthew), Kendal and Emily (children of Wilson), and Charlie Ruth and Shepherd (children of Addie). Amy found no greater pleasure than being a grandmother and seeing the world through their eyes. Her time with her grandchildren was filled with laughter, creativity, and cherished memories. She loved them deeply. Amy's life was not only marked by dedication to her husband and family but also a deep commitment to caring for others. She graduated from Northeast High School in Macon, Georgia, and later pursued a career as a Registered Nurse, earning her BSN from Tomball College. Her work as a nurse reflected her compassionate spirit and unwavering desire to help those in need. Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Gwaltney Wilson. She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren; father, Joseph Porter Wilson; older sister, Jan Wilson Miller, spouse David; older brother, Sidney Wilson; older sister, Tricia Wilson Cash, spouse Bill; and many nieces and nephews. A private family viewing will be held to honor Amy’s life. Amy’s memory lives on through the family she nurtured and the lives she touched with kindness and care. Her husband and family will miss her immeasurably. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her. “With you always” my love.
