Wanda Hammond

Our beloved “Memaw” Wanda Ware Hammond age 70 of Houston went to rest in everlasting peace on December 15, 2020 after a bravely fought battle with cancer. She passed surrounded by loved ones. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Wanda is survived by her son John Hammond IV and her daughter-in law Katie Hammond. Four grandchildren; John Hammond V, his fiancé Heaven Leigh Eldridge, Sara Hammond, Isabelle Aranas and Emma Hammond. One great grandchild – John Hammond VI. A loving sister, Ginger Astolfo and brother in law Larry Astolfo. A caring sister in law; Charlene Ware. And many nieces and nephews. And her favorite pal; her dog Lily She is proceeded in death by her daughter Julie Hammond, her husband John Richard Hammond III, mother Ollie Damuth Ware and her father, James Harold Ware and brother, James Edward Ware. Wanda was caring, witty, funny, and charismatic and laughter that was contagious and would fill a room. Her family always first. Her true passion was crafts, she was talented and tedious in all the art she created. Her ornaments, door hangers, Christmas décor were one of a kind; truly, not one was like the other. When she wasn’t doing her crafts she was visiting with family and friends or watching Outlander. Friends may visit with Wanda’s family from 1-2 on December 20, 2020 to be immediately followed by the service at Magnolia Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mostyn-Damuth Cemetery in Magnolia.
