Vacille Carroll, daughter of Clarice Vaola Crawford Woods and Burford Webster Woods, was born on December 30, 1933, in Iola, TX. After attending school in Bedias and Magnolia, she graduated from Conroe High School in 1952. She married Richard Carroll in 1952, and they were married for 69 years and 9 months. Vacille devoted herself to creating a loving home for Richard and their children, Warren, Denise, and Keith. She was overjoyed when her children married and added daughters-in-law and a son-in-law to the family. When grandchildren came along, she was ecstatic, and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren always treasured their times with their Mom-ma, and they all enjoyed her special hugs and her delicious meals. In 1966, Vacille began working for Armour Foods, and she worked first as a secretary, and then she was a sales representative. She retired in 1989. Vacille had many hobbies, including cooking/baking, sewing, crafting, playing “42”, and traveling. She and Richard loved going on road trips and cruises, and their favorite trips were to Alaska, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal. Vacille was very proud of being a Sunday School teacher. She began teaching Sunday School as a teenager with a group of young boys, but she taught adult women for most of her tenure of over seventy (70) years. She loved her class of special ladies, and she considered all of them dear friends. She genuinely loved teaching God’s Word. She was honored to have been recognized for her faithful service at the First Baptist Church of Tomball on January 26, 2020. She is predeceased by her parents, Clarice Woods and B.W. Woods; her son, Warren Carroll; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Carroll; and her granddaughter, Jeannie Carroll. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Carroll; her daughter, Denise Hall and husband David; her son Keith Carroll and wife Julie; and her sister, Evelyn Rodriguez and husband Jesse. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Renee Kennedy; Shellie Newman and husband Daniel; Cynthia Carroll; Allison Kinney and husband Kyle; Candice Carroll; Russell Hall and wife Rachel; Amanda Rivera; and Cody Carroll. She will also be missed by her eight (8) great-grandchildren and twelve (12) great-great grandchildren. Danations can be made in her memory, to ALZ.ORG A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday March 18, at First Baptist Church, Tomball, Texas.
