Ray R. Eytcheson
June 16, 2022
It is with great sorrow that the family of Raymond Richard Eytcheson Jr (79) of Magnolia, TX announces his passing on Thursday morning, June 16, 2022 Born in Downey, CA to Raymond and Betty Eytcheson, Ray moved to the Greater Peoria (IL) area shortly after his birth. After graduating from Pekin High School in 1961, and a short stint with the United States Navy, Ray joined the Caterpillar Tractor company as an entry level employee and worked his way through the ranks before retiring as an Upper-Level Manager dealing with Telecommunications for a large portion of the company's international footprint. For many years in the mid 1990's and early 2000's, Ray also operated the Olde Town Pub in Spring Bay. Ray was known for his quick wit, ability to bring divergent groups to consensus, and the ability to make hard decisions in crisis situations. Ray never drew attention to himself, but often dominated the room simply by his presence. Ray believed in Honor, Duty, Respect, Discipline...these were his four pillars, and ones he instilled in all around him. Ray leaves behind his loving wife Linda Kim Eytcheson, 3 children (Kimberly Macurdy of The Woodland, TX, Timothy Eytcheson of Tucson, AZ, and Thomas Eytcheson of Greenville, SC), 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. Private services for immediate family will be held in Magnolia, TX. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the ASPCA; a charity near and dear to Ray given his lifelong love of animals
