James Belcher

James was born in Channelview, TX to Linda and Robert Belcher. He grew up in Spring as a typical young boy who loved the outdoors. He was a member of the boy scouts which fit in perfectly with his love of camping and fishing. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle and spending time with his sisters, so much so he even cut his hair off with the same scissors his sister used to cut off her barbie dolls hair. In 2000 James and his mom moved to Waller where he made many friends and had good times with several of those that he called best friends and are still to this day. James played football in his early high school years and was even a member of the high school choir. He competed in the Mr. Valentine pageant and was voted Mr. November for his stellar performance of Nirvana's, Smells Like Teen Spirit, even though he forgot the words, dropped the microphone and ran off stage. He was noted as the class clown and the one to always make you laugh, which he carried out throughout his life. James worked numerous jobs throughout high school including working for the Oil Ranch, moving houses with the Sipe Brothers and the Circle-N-Feed store in Field Store. He graduated from high school in May 2005 and joined the Marines but shortly after was honorably discharged. He worked for a few different steel companies but then he began his career in the telecommunications industry and did that until his last days. James married his high school sweetheart Ashley in 2008 and went on to have three beautiful children. He cared deeply for them and enjoyed spending time with them from laying on the couch watching Disney movies, attending Astros games, hunting, shooting guns or fishing. He loved fishing whether it be by boat or a pool float, and you would often find him wading and looking for his favorite lures. He was a very caring, charismatic, fun-loving person with a lot of personality. Always joking and giving his wife a hard time. James was a hard worker and loved his family dearly. He was a friend to many and always readily available to help them when they were in need. If you knew James, you had a friend for life. So many memories made in such a short time but memories that will be cherished for eternity.
