Debbie Qualls peacefully passed away on January 2, 2021, at the age of 65 years old at her home in Magnolia. She was born January 3, 1955, in Schenectady, New York to Thomas and Pauline Lee. Debbie fought valiantly against her cancer diagnoses for the past five months, and for her, healing and victory came by going home to her savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a degree in Education, with a focus on Speech and Hearing. She taught in Wyoming for a year, and then moved to Tomball to teach in order to be closer to a special someone! She later taught classes in different homeschool coops. She had a passion for teaching and her students. She married the love of her life, John Qualls, in 1979. They were blessed with three children – Katie, James, and Susanna. She loved being a wife and mother, but the real joy came at becoming a Bushka (grandmother)! She deeply loved her grandsons and could play dinosaurs and superheroes with the best of them! Debbie always loved arts and crafts and using her gift of creativity to make beautiful things. She enjoyed painting, sketching, card making, along with many others. It brought her joy to use her creativity to bless others. Her personal faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was paramount to her, and she strived to live out her faith in all that she did and to keep Christ at the center of the home. Local and overseas missions were very important to her, and she went on many short-term mission trips to Honduras, Russia, and India. She used her gifts of teaching and crafts to bless those all over the world. She is survived by her husband, John Qualls, and children, Katie, James, and Susanna and their families. Katie and her husband, Blake, their son Dakota. James, and wife, Meredith, and their sons Jackson and A.J. She is also survived by parents, Thomas and Pauline Lee, and brother, Gary Lee.
