Christy Keeton

March 1, 2022

Christy Dearman Keeton, age 71 of Pinehurst, passed away March 1, 2022 into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christy was born in Houston, Texas to Bill and Ruthie Dearman. Christy was a loving wife and mother of two daughters. She graduated from Smiley High School and Sam Houston State University with a degree in Special Education. Christy served as a teacher in both public and private education. She and her husband John, married 52 years, then put their mutual love of animals in motion by opening several pet stores. She later transitioned to a career in the floral industry specializing in beautiful floral arrangements for weddings. First and foremost, Christy was a soldier in the army of the Lord. She was a prayer partner and an intercessor especially for her family. Christy inherited a love for supporting missionaries and especially for the country of Tonga. The Dearman’s were one of the original families of Lakewood Church. Christy was the one to call when you needed a strong prayer or spiritual advice. Christy was an avid reader with a love of mystery, detective and history stories. She was one of the most intelligent people you could come across for information you didn’t think you needed, a lot of which she learned from her mother, Ruthie . She adored her animals and gardening and crafts. She had a way of making a simple gift special with her creative talents. Christy was sweet, caring, shy and funny. She was also a force to be reckoned with at times and always strong and courageous in the Lord. Christy is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dean Garner and Mark Dearman. She is survived by her husband John Keeton; daughter Jennifer Keeton Smith (husband Jay) of Waller; daughter Heather Keeton Vizcaya (husband Yassir) of El Paso; Five grandchildren and Four great-grandchildren; brother Linn Garner (wife Judy); sister Joy Dearman Boles (husband Robert). A funeral service will be celebrated Wednesday, March 9 at 10:00 am at River of Praise Church, 13215 Boudreaux Estates Dr., Tomball, TX. 77377 with a graveside interment at Magnolia Funeral Home at 811 Magnolia Blvd., Magnolia, TX 77355 followed by a light-lunch reception back at River of Praise Church. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to the Keeton family during this difficult time.
