I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 A beautiful life began for Alma Jane Wendt on November 12, 1938 in Houston, Texas. Born to the late Willie T and Viola Lee. Janie battled with Alzheimer’s and entered eternal rest on, December 2, 2021 in Waller, Texas. She was 83 years young. Janie was the youngest of 5 children. She was adored, pampered, sheltered, and spoiled by her Family. They lived in Spring Branch until they made Waller, TX their forever home. From birth, Janie had great passion for the Lord and her Church. If the doors were open, she was there. Her walk with Jesus displayed in her life and also gave others that thirst to know Christ Jesus. At an early age, Janie met her one and only, Eddie Lee Wendt, in Waller, TX where Eddie lived. They only dated for a very short time (if memory serves us correctly 3 or 4 months), when they knew beyond a shadow of doubt, they were soul mates. Janie was 17 years old, and Eddie was 18 when they married. They had 3 Children, Janie Lee, Donald Ray, and Carl David. Janie and Eddie were married for 47 wonderful years. Janie always lived by the “4F’s”: Faith, Family, Friends and Food. Although, she worked off and on outside the home, Her God Given gift was taking care of others. She has cared for so many in her adult life. If this meant picking up kids and grandkids taking them places or babysitting. She always made sure they had full tummies, happy, and lots of time to play. As a Caregiver for others, Janie and Eddie took in his Down Syndrome sister, Nelda Faye, for at least 33 years after the death of her parents, Grandma and Grandpa Wendt. She was honored to take on this role and took in Nelda as her own. Nelda was loved by everyone and lived much longer than she should have due to the unconditional love and happiness that she received. She also cared for others outside the home. When needed, has lived with some in their homes or moved them into hers. Even living at the Hospital with them. “No” was not in her vocabulary and never asked for anything in return. Her devotion, love, and time spent as a mom, grandma, mammy, Aunt Janie, was her best and favorite moments of her life. She always wanted all her family around her. She enjoyed cooking, playing board games, cards, quilting and dominos. Her ride or die friends: Nancy Isabel, Eunice Marino, and her fur babies: Baby Girl, Callie, and Miracle. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, mother Viola Lee and father Willie T Lee, her husband Eddie Lee Wendt, her sister Francis & husband Warren Outlaw. Her brothers, Tom Lee & wife Harriet, Carl Lee & wife Mary, Jesse Lee & wife Myrtie Lu, daughter Janie Temple & grandson Teddy Flores. Janie leaves to cherish her memory, her Children: Donnie Wendt & partner Natalie Fleming, David Wendt & wife Vickie, Son-in-law Steve Temple. Sister-in-law, Barbara Wendt. Grandchildren, Devin Hart & fiancé Sam, Dana Flores, Holly & husband Mitch Ayres, Darren Wendt & wife Vanie, Cody Wendt & wife Amanda, Michael Wendt, Dustin Wendt & wife Kirsten. In total Janie and Eddie had 3 Children, 7 Grands, 18 Great and 2 Great-Great Grand Children, and a host of honorary children, grandchildren, cousins, family & friends. We will always keep Alma, Janie, Mom, Grandma, Mammy, Aunt Janie, in our hearts, and can’t wait to see her on the other side. But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought! Job 19:25-27 The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to Alma's family and friends during this difficult time.
