William Hodge Sr.

William O. Hodge Sr. “Bill”, 71, of Waller, Texas passed away, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Magnolia Funeral Home and family friend Frank Tutor will be officiating. Following the service a reception will be held at the West Montgomery County Community Center on Friendship Drive. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Bill was born September 23, 1945, in Houston, Texas. He attended Sam Houston High School and later joined the US Army “A” BTRY 5th MSL. BN 562nd ATLY 1962-1965 and was honorably discharged in 1968 from the Reserves. After many years of truck driving for several companies, he finally retired in February 2016 from Whitco Supply in Houston, Texas. Bill is survived by his loving wife Brenda of 23 years. Three Sons: William Hodge Jr. “BJ” of Tomball, Texas., Richard Hodge, his wife Vanita of Seguin, Texas, and Danny Hodge, his wife Mandy of Magnolia, Texas; Two Daughters: Rebecca Stauth of Magnolia, Texas as well as Kimberly Jeffreys Hardin, her husband Rick, of Montgomery, Texas. A Step-Daughter: Elizabeth Markwardt, her husband William of Bryan, Texas. Fifteen Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, her husband Richard, Aubrianne and her fiancée Tyler, Kade, Kooper, Lane, Alyssa, Mason and his fiancée Ashley, Garrett, Kaylie and her husband Joey, Kyle, Korey, Samantha, Seth, Derrick, Kassidy. 3 Step-Grandsons: Tommy and Andrew Markwardt and Joe Howard. Seven Great Grandchildren: Emberlyn, Ralston, Anthony, Dominick, Kase, Kolt, and Weston. Brother: Benny Mills, wife Lynn and their son, Josh. Step-Brother: Ronnie Mills and wife Linda. Step-Sister: Charlene Kuciemba. In-law family and friends, Loraine Koehl, Genny Juroska, John Bernard Hoffart, Irene Martin, Margret Smith, Sara Borski, Ronnie Hoffart and Ricky Hoffart. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Hodge, Viola and Stepfather Thomas Mills, brother Richard Hodge “Dicky”, Sisters Rebecca Sue and Betty Virgilene, Step brother; Joe Thomas Mills and Step sister Ora Marie Turley. Sister in-law Matilda Winkler. Many cousins, nephews, nieces, and several extended family members. Bill enjoyed life by spending time with his wife, Brenda, his children, grandkids, the great grandkids, also attending many enjoyable family functions. He loved taking road trips to Coushatta and playing the slots hoping to win big. He also had a love for old trucks and cars, watching the Houston Texans and Houston Astros. His last outing was seeing the Astros with his wife, family and friends. It was a special day.
