Will Edward "Eddie" Slack

Will “Eddie” Slack, age 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer, Parkinson’s disease dementia. Eddie was born October 1950 in Houston to the late Otto and Helen L. Slack. From an early age, he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and loyalty. He spent most of his career working alongside family in construction, where his strong work ethic and quiet dedication left a lasting mark on those he worked with and loved. Eddie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—playing dominoes and shooting pool with friends, casting a line while fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family. His presence was steady, his heart was kind, and his love was constant. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Helen L. Slack; his brother Harmon; his sisters Barbara and Brenda; his in-laws Beachel and Ellen; and his brothers-in-law Brentley, Claude, Bobby, and Cliff. Eddie is survived by his brother Donnie (Debbie), his sister Opal, and many nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply. Most of all, he is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda, whom he met early in life. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage built on unwavering love and partnership. To Brenda, Eddie was her rock. Their bond was one of deep devotion, and those who knew them would often say their personalities complement each other perfectly—proof that “opposites attract.” Eddie is also survived by his daughter Lisa; sons Will “Jr” (Sharla), and Robert (Meghan). He was blessed to be called “Pepaw” and “Papa” to his grandchildren Ryan, Weston, Brenden, Katelyn, Brynlee, and Emery; his great-grandchildren Wyatt, Kase, Liam, Maverick, and Sunny, who brought him endless joy and love. Eddie’s legacy will be carried on by his family and friends, who will forever remember his gentle spirit, steadfast love, and the laughter he brought to their lives. Though he has gone home, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
