Scott Allen Maxwell

We celebrate the life of a truly remarkable man, Scott Allen Maxwell born on June 14, 1967. Today we remember the 56 incredible years he spent spreading God’s love, joy, and kindness to all who crossed his path. A beloved son, father, brother, uncle, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord, Scott left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Scott's faith was a guiding light in his life. From a young age he always said, “You know, the only reason we are here on this earth is to witness for the Lord.” As a member of Salem Lutheran Church, from childhood through his college years, the church provided a nurturing foundation for his spiritual growth. He developed a strong personal relationship with the Lord that would stay with him throughout his entire life. Scott's unwavering love for the Lord illuminated his path, shaping the man he became. Scott’s love extended beyond his walk with Christ as he was a devoted father to his beloved and precious 10-year-old son, Isaiah Ryan. They share a special bond which is a source of joy and inspiration. Scott soaked up every minute he could being the best father possible to his son. Reflecting Scott's commitment to family and the values he held dear he found joy in teaching his son to love the Lord, the outdoors and serving others with kindness and love. As a father, he poured his heart into nurturing, guiding, and cherishing every moment with his beloved son. In his formative years, Scott's dedication to his faith only grew stronger. During his high school years, he exemplified his commitment by becoming the president of Cougars for Christ and as the head of the National Lutheran Youth. He participated and held leadership positions in numerous organizations including varsity football, National Honor Society, class photographer and many others. His leadership and positive influence inspired many, leaving a lasting impact on his peers. Scott embraced life with a passion for the outdoors—whether casting a line, firing up the grill, bird or bow hunting, or enjoying a round of golf. His connection to nature was profound, and these activities were not just hobbies but expressions of his deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. For the past 15 years, Scott dedicated himself to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Gatekeepers Committee along with the past 5 years spent as a member of the cook team, a role that perfectly encapsulated his adventurous spirit and commitment to community. His positive attitude and servant's heart shone through in every endeavor, leaving an enduring legacy of compassion and generosity. Scott was the epitome of an amazing friend— whose presence brought warmth and joy to all of our lives. His commitment to friendship was unparalleled, and the memories shared during the annual "Man Olympics" will always be cherished. Scott's character shone through in his selfless acts of service. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a neighbor, organizing events to support the community, or braving freezing rain to search for a lost dog, Scott demonstrated a genuine and compassionate heart. His selflessness and willingness to stand by others, regardless of the circumstances, exemplified the depth of his character. Scott's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the enduring impact of his friendships. Scott will be remembered not only for the pursuits he loved but for the way he lived—a life rooted in Christ, his strong faith, love for his family and friends, and his servitude to all in need. The pain we feel goes beyond words – to say we are heartbroken is an understatement. Scott was undeniably a remarkable soul, and the profound impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him speaks volumes about the depth of his character. As we bid him farewell, we find solace in knowing that he carried a boundless love in his heart, showering affection upon his son, mother, sisters, niece, nephew and all those who were fortunate to be called family and friends - a testament to the beautiful soul he was. We trust that Scott is embraced in the everlasting love of our Savior and may he rest in the comforting arms of Jesus. We look forward to the day when we can join him and share in the joy of an everlasting reunion. Thank God for Jesus!
