Patrick Mountain

Patrick (Pat) Mountain, 86, of Magnolia, Tx passed away November 14, 2024 surrounded by his wife and children. Pat was born to Harry and Marguerite (O’Neil) Mountain of Fairview, NJ and was the 7th of 8 children. He used to joke that the reason he did not have a middle name is that his parents had run out of ideas by the time he was born. Pat graduated from St. Joseph of the Palisades High School in 1956, where he starred in track. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a radioman from 1956-1959 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class. Pat attended Fordham University in New York City where he graduated with a degree in Business, while painting houses part-time to pay for his education. Pat took a job with Texaco, Inc. and was transferred to Houston in 1965 where he met his beautiful wife Pauline (Anderson). They were married in Houston in 1970, where they raised their 4 children. Pat worked most of his career in the Oil and Gas sector, focusing on Credit and Finance. He retired in 2008 and spent his free time working in his yard, hunting, and fishing with his sons. Pat committed his life to Jesus Christ after the tragic death of his daughter, Amy Beth. Pat was well known for his wit and humor. His Irish gift of gab was readily apparent to anyone who met and spoke with him. He will be greatly missed. Pat is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Marguerite Mountain; siblings Tom Mountain, Dick Mountain, Peggy Mountain, Betty (Mountain) Van Vugt, Jane (Mountain) Braddock, Frank Mountain, and John Mountain and his daughter, Amy Beth Mountain. Pat leaves behind his devoted wife, Pauline Mountain, his loving children, Patrick Mountain and wife Tracey, Jennifer (Mountain) Riker and husband Ryan, Jeff Mountain and wife Cindy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tate Baker and wife Christen, Parker Mountain, Cameryn Mountain, Carter Mountain, Noah Riker, Avery Riker, Caleb Riker, Grant Mountain, Haley Mountain, Taylor Mountain as well as many other family members and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Golden Age Care Home, Valiente Senior Living, and Devotion Hospice. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to the Mountain family during this difficult time. Please note that Pat will be buried at Magnolia Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Magnolia Funeral Home, in the days prior to the Celebration of Life. That will be a Graveside Service and is FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY.
