In Loving Memory of Nannie Ruth Beach Nannie Ruth Beach, age 88, of Magnolia, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 5, 2026. Ruth was born in French Camp, Mississippi, to Jimmy Lee Jennings and Retha Mae Jennings. More than anything else in this world, Ruth loved Jesus. She was a God-fearing, devoted, and faithful Christian who put Him first in every part of her life. Her greatest desire was for everyone she met to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ so they could spend eternity in Heaven with Him. She boldly shared her faith with family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers, and her testimony reflected the deep love she had for her Savior. Her light for Christ shined brightly and touched countless lives. Ruth’s love for people was immeasurable. Whether someone was family, a lifelong friend, or someone she had just met, she made them feel valued and cared for. She had a servant’s heart and found joy in encouraging and helping others. Ruth devoted her entire working career to Walmart, where she faithfully served for 34 years as the Fabric and Crafts Department Manager at the Hempstead store. When the store opened in July 1985, she had the privilege of meeting Walmart founder Sam Walton, who personally told her she was doing a great job. Ruth would always smile as she recalled replying, “Mr. Sam, this is the only job I have ever had.” She loved telling that story to anyone who would listen, especially Walmart cashiers while shopping. She proudly said she could still take you to the exact spot in the store where she shook Sam Walton’s hand. In 1987, Ruth founded the “Piece Makers” Quilting Guild through her department at Walmart. She found tremendous joy in teaching others to quilt and sharing her knowledge and talents. What began as a small quilting group has continued to meet for decades and remains active today, something that brought Ruth great pride and happiness. Ruth was an exceptionally talented seamstress and quilter. She created beautiful works with her hands and blessed many people with her gifts, but her greatest gift was the love she poured into every stitch and every person she taught. In her young years, Ruth traveled throughout the country with her husband, Horace, while he worked as a union welder. She enjoyed sharing stories of the many places they visited. One of her favorite memories was telling how she once rode in a helicopter that Marilyn Monroe had been in just before her. She loved reminiscing about those adventures and sharing them with family and friends. Ruth is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca Beach; her granddaughter, Hannah Schneider, her husband, Corey Schneider, and their daughter, Edyn Mae Schneider; her grandson, Sean McKey II, his wife, Adrianna McKey, and their son, Lennox Rae McKey; her sister, Rosie Mosley; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace Beach; her parents, Jimmy Lee Jennings and Retha Mae Jennings; her sisters, Gladys Clark, Grace Hoke, and Susie Donahue; and her brothers, Billy Wayne Jennings and Jimmy Dean Jennings. Ruth leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, kindness, hard work, generosity, and service to others. While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice knowing she is now in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served throughout her life. Her life was a beautiful testimony of God’s love, and her influence will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
