Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Pelikan

Mary Kathryn Pelikan (Kathy), 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 in her home in Magnolia, Texas while holding the hand of her beloved daughter. Kathy grew up in Macomb, Illinois alongside her four siblings. She had the very best stories of her childhood and enjoyed sharing them with all. She fondly reminisced about her grandparents sneaking her soda and chocolate, her Father’s mild temperament and kindness, her Morher’s love and compassion and of her many adventures she shared with her siblings. All memories that she held near and dear to her heart. Kathy’s greatest accomplishments were being a mother and grandmother, and she truly was the best there was. Her love showed no bounds, and her life truly revolved around her family until her very last breath. She enjoyed cooking, watching her Westerns, being silly with her great grandchildren, M&Ms and Pepsi, her word search books and outings with her family. She was determined, loving, kind, and most of all she was strong. Never complaining, only embracing all that life had in store for her because she knew everything was in God’s hands. She lived her life graciously and always with a smile on her face. Always looking for the silver lining in all situations, thankful for all of God’s blessings. We are forever grateful for the time we were blessed to have with her on Earth and look forward to walking the streets of gold with her one day. Proceeding her in death are her parents, James and Francis Smith and her grandparents. Those left on earth to honor her memory are her children; Jeffrey Hudson, and Kelly Smith (Ken). Her grandchildren; Katie Walton (Justin), Kenneth Smith Jr. (Tatiana), Rebekah Hudson, Jadon Hudson, and Kinley Smith. Her great grandchildren; Keaten Walton, Daniel Walton, and Kiana Smith. Her siblings; Susie Flanagan, Patricia (Pudy) Smith, Jimmy Smith and Thomas Smith. Along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family. James 1:12: “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to the Pelikan family during this difficult time. No services are scheduled through the funeral home.
