Mary Hair

Mary Frances Hair died on Sunday, November 13, 2022. She was born in Anson, Tx in 1933 to Mary Alice Kennedy Griffith and Joseph Virgil Griffith. She will be buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Anson, Texas. Mary and Roger were sweethearts married for 66 years. They had 3 children Stacie, Britt, and Susan. They lived in Houston, League City, Oklahoma City, Medina, Clifton, and Graham, Texas. Right out of high school, Mary moved to downtown Houston at 18 to work as a switchboard operator for the telephone company. Through her brother William, who attended U of H, she met Roger Hair, who was an Engineering student and had been discharged from the Navy. Later, she worked as a Real Estate agent for 30+ years all over Houston selling residential and custom-built homes. In 1989, Roger and Mary moved to Medina Children’s Home. They were house parents at Medina Children’s Home for 2+ years to over 20+ boys in Alamo Cottage. For the next 15 years, Mom joined Dad crisscrossing Texas raising funds for MCH through benefit dinners, golf tournaments, etc. Mary was a great athlete in her day. She ran track, played tennis & basketball and was a drum major. She was an avid card player: Bridge, Hand & Foot, Skip Bo, and every Solitaire game. She played Senior Olympics Tennis into her 60’s. She was quite the competitor on the court and at the card table. Mary shared her faith with everyone. She led bible classes for children, ladies, women’s jail ministry and through international bible correspondence courses. She also served as an Elder’s wife. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Jo Middlebrook, and brother William Kennedy Griffith. Mary is survived by her husband of 66 years Roger Ray Hair and her sister-in law Martha Griffith. She is survived by her daughter Stacie Nemec and her husband Mike; son Britt Lyle Hair and his wife Krystal Laguna; and her daughter Susan Wilkinson and her husband David Scott Wilkinson. Grandchildren: Eric Albright and his wife Natalie; Owen Albright and his wife Jennifer; Nathan Wilkinson; Natalie Wilkinson Dolgener and her husband Tyler; Paul Martinez, Noah Martinez, Sesar Martinez; Maria Laguna; Miranda Laguna, Francisco “Bubba” Laguna; April Hair and Wild Hair. Great grandchildren: Jesse Albright, Elsie Albright, and Teddy Albright. Nieces & Nephews: Cynthia Davis, Brad Hair, Roger Hair, Stephen Griffith, Debra Williford, Kevin Griffith, Kelly Domnick, and many beloved great nieces & nephews The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to the Hair family during this difficult time.
