Judy Maxwell

Judy H. Maxwell, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and faithful servant of Christ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was a beacon of love, grace, and strength, whose warm smile and kind heart left a lasting imprint on everyone she encountered. Judy was the cherished mother of five children: Donny Maxwell, James H. Maxwell, Judith A. Barczynski, Christopher P. Maxwell, and Jonathan D. Maxwell. She was a proud and loving grandmother to eight grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. Judy is survived by her beloved sister, Jane Matthews, and is reunited in heaven with her dear sisters Janice Willmeth and Jeannette Taylor, her brother James Matthews Jr., and her loving parents, James and Margret Matthews. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Donald Maxwell, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and adventure. One of their greatest joys was traveling together, taking in the beauty of the countryside and creating memories that would live on in stories told for generations. Judy dedicated her professional life to shaping young minds as a teacher at Community Christian Academy. Her passion for education, patience, and unwavering faith made her a treasured mentor to many. Her heart overflowed with love for Jesus Christ, and her life was a reflection of that love in every word she spoke and every act of kindness she offered. She lived each day with purpose and grace, greeting everyone she met with a warm smile and open heart. Her home was always a place of comfort, encouragement, and laughter—a sanctuary filled with faith and family. Though she will be deeply missed, Judy’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the love she gave so freely. Her faith carried her through life, and now she rests in eternal peace, embraced by the glory of her Savior. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held April 5, 2025, where friends and loved ones are invited to honor her memory and the remarkable life she lived. Please contact a family member for details.
