Jeanette Malone

Jeanette H. Malone, age 85, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025. Jeanette was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Jess and Elsie Harper. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother whose kindness, quiet strength, and love for her family will be deeply missed. Jeanette grew up in Shreveport and later attended Abilene Christian College, where she earned a degree in Biology. She spent many years working in hospitals and eventually managing a laboratory of phlebotomists, until she married Bill and began raising a family. Jeanette was a faithful and devoted member of the local church wherever she lived—whether in Louisiana, New Mexico, or Texas, which she proudly called home since 1975. Her commitment to the Lord and her church family was always a top priority. Throughout her life, she served in countless ways, including as a Bible class teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and in many other roles whenever there was a need. She was also a constant presence at her boys’ schools, volunteering with the PTO, band boosters, library, school carnivals, and anywhere else help was needed. Later, Jeanette returned to the workforce as a part-time merchandiser for American Greetings. Jeanette loved to laugh and always did her best to make others join in her joy as well. Few things brought her greater happiness than time spent with her grandchildren. She cared deeply for those around her and was known for her thoughtful notes and cards, as well as phone calls just to check in and offer a kind word to anyone who might need one. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Elsie Harper, as well as her siblings Helen Gaby, Orville Harper, Jessie Harper, George Harper, and her twin sister, Janice Decker. She is survived by her husband, William Malone of The Woodlands; her sons, Kevin Malone and his wife Erin of Kingwood, and Richie Malone and his wife Ashley of Katy; and her cherished grandchildren, Caleb, Rhett, Julia, and Tate. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A service to honor Jeanette’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home, 811 Magnolia Blvd., Magnolia, TX 77355, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Woodland Oaks Church of Christ, 7300 Crownridge Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77382, designated to the Mission Fund.
