Jay Vann

Jay Vann, 29, of Hockley, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025. Jay was born in Tomball, Texas, to Keith and Toni Vann as their fourth and youngest child. He was a surprise baby who entered the world weighing over 10 pounds—already the size of a toddler. The nurses at the hospital affectionately nicknamed him "The Moose" because he was twice the size of every other baby in the nursery. Growing up, Jay followed along with his many cousins and three older siblings—Keither, Ginger, and Maurice Vann. As the youngest in the family, he was lovingly considered "the baby," and was very close to his mother for most of his life. In high school, Jay struck out on his own path and attended Waller High School, where he made many close, lifelong friends. He was a social person who never met a stranger, often hosting fun gatherings or taking trips with friends, particularly for camping and fishing. During high school, Jay was a member of the Waller High School wrestling team for a year, but he found his true passion in BMX biking. He loved riding, performing tricks, and participating in events at various skate parks. He also enjoyed working with his hands and was actively involved in welding class. He graduated from Waller High School with his diploma on June 7, 2014, surrounded by his proud grandparents, Aunt Donna Vann, and immediate family. Jay's first job was at H-E-B, where he worked alongside his two older siblings. He was promoted to night stocker, where his skills and dedication earned him a managerial position. No matter where he worked, Jay took pride in being a hard worker. On a whim, Jay and a friend took a last-minute trip to Ohio for a job opportunity with Amteck, which helped launch his career as a talented electrician. After gaining years of training and experience, Jay returned to Texas, where he continued his successful career with both Nation Wide and WireStar Network. Jay met his fiancée, Victoria Foltz (Vicky), at Dollar General, where she worked at the end of 2020. He was a regular customer who visited often, and over time, they exchanged numbers. They officially became a couple on February 2, 2021. After countless cherished moments and romantic dates, Jay proposed to Vicky on February 11, 2022 at 10 p.m. in Corpus Christi, in front of the USS Lexington. She said yes. Through their engagement, Jay and Vicky grew even closer to their families as a couple and became involved in the horse community. Together, they traveled constantly, exploring new states and towns throughout Texas. They had just recently celebrated their fourth anniversary on February 11, 2025, and were eagerly planning their wedding. Jay already referred to Vicky as his wife when speaking with close friends, and his sister, Ginger, lovingly considered Vicky her sister-in-law, honoring Jay’s wishes and plans for their future together. Jay was a lifelong friend to many and a well-respected electrician. He deeply loved his family, friends, fiancée, and his beloved dog, Link. He is survived by his parents, Keith and Toni Vann; his siblings, Keither, Ginger, and Maurice Vann; and his fiancée, Victoria Foltz. He is also survived by his many cousins on both sides of the family. He will be dearly missed by his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, fiancée, and friends.
