Dan K Utley

Dan Kenneth Utley was born to Don and Nita Utley in Princeton, Indiana. A devoted man to his family whom Dan fiercely loved, Dan routinely chose his family’s needs and desires over that of his own. Dan did whatever it took to provide and take care of his family, including giving time, money and a work schedule that forced Dan to work all hours of the day and night. Despite often running on very little sleep, Dan made it a point to show up to basketball games, recitals, and every family function. The love and dedication that Dan gave his family, gave his family the stability it desperately needed. His love and dedication to his family was a perfect example of how he showed he followed and believed in Jesus. Married to the love of his life, Connie Utley on July 23rd, 1996, beginning 27 years of eternal love. Together they have modeled how to sacrifice, love relentlessly, and despite many personal inconveniences, how to always put the family first. Dan and Connie persevered through many struggles demonstrating to their family what it looks like to never give up in life no matter what you are faced with, an attitude that Dan modeled until his very last day on earth. As a husband and wife, they showed their family how to choose each other, live for each other, and how to live a life with good morals, class and integrity. Dan was the perfect example of how to live a life for his family. Dan was also a grandad, leader for his co-workers, and a great friend to his golfing buddies. Dan passed on his love and skill for golf, baseball, bowling, racing and woodworking to his family. Joy, laughter and frustrations were just some of the emotions shown while participating in his hobbies and it showed that Dan always did everything with his entire heart and soul. Not only was Dan known for his fierce love, but he was also known for his hard work and dedication to his job. Dan endured tireless hours at his job for the last 20+ years as a manager of Porter Ready-mix. His co-workers have praised Dan for leading the company with class and integrity, while also holding his employees to a standard of excellence that Dan also lived his life too. Before working at Porter, Dan was a business owner and worked at HL&P for 20+ years as well. It was not unusual for customers and employees to request to work with Dan because they knew he was trustworthy, and they would be taken care of with the utmost of service. Dan is proceeded in death by his father, Don G. Utley. Dan is survived by his mom Nita, his brother Don, his wife Connie, his six children: Ryan Utley, Haley Weaks, Tara Benton, Michael Worton, Kristen Heffernan, and Wesley Worton. Not only did Dan have 6 kids, but he was also “Grandad” to 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolence to Dan's family and friends during this difficult time.
