Bruce Jett

Bruce Jett, age 61 of Houston, passed away August 10, 2022. Bruce was born at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas to his parents - Barbara Joan Peoples Engnath & Pierce “PJ” Bruce Jett. Bruce lived in New Orleans and resided in Houston during his lifetime. Bruce was “larger than life”, most would say! Bruce played Football at the University of Arkansas; he was an Avid Golfer (played on the Mini-Senior Tour in the early 80’s) and was a 1st Class Softball Player for over 30 years. He traveled all over the U.S. playing Softball and achieved many awards along the way. He worked in the Door Business along side of his Dad, PJ, for several years before starting his own business – Jett Door Service. Bruce continued his career with Hoelscher Weatherstrip until his retirement earlier this year. Bruce had the “Biggest Heart” of anyone, he never met a Stranger and would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. Bruce loved all of the people in his life, no matter how long or short of a time that he knew them. It’s evident by the number of lives Bruce touched throughout his lifetime. Bruce is survived by his sister, Jane’t Denise LeGardeur, his brother-in-law, Jack “Chief” Lutsch & his Aunt Jeanette Jett Stepbrothers - Curtis, Robert & Alan Grissom, as well as their spouses & families Cousins -Darlene, Dawn, Patrick & Kelly, as well as their spouses & families Nieces – Greer LeGardeur Riley, Bailee Warren, Abbey McDaniel & Madison McFarland Extended Family – Doreen “Doe” Gatewood and her husband Bobby, Glenn McFarland and his wife Sandy, Diane McFarland, Beau, Cody, Candice & Bailey, along with their spouses & families Bruce is preceded in death by his Father, Pierce “PJ”, his Mother, Barbara, his Uncle Sherwood & his sister, Kim A few Associations that were close to Bruce’s heart were Boys & Girls Country, the American Diabetes Association & Spectrum of Hope. A Go Fund Me will be set up for the Boys & Girls Country and all donations will be made in Bruce’s Name. For the ADA/American Diabetes Association & Spectrum of Hope, donations can be made directly to the Associations Name under Bruce’s Name. Celebration of Life – Following the Service at Bareback Ice House – 19940 Kuykendahl Rd., Spring 77379 Lunch will be served around 2:00pm-2:30pm. We will have an Open Mic to Share Stories FYI - Bareback Opens at 2pm, however, we can get there around 1:30pm.
