Arnold Parr

Arnold Dale Parr “AP” was called home to heaven on Friday, October 13, 2023. He was only 71 years old and will be greatly missed. Arnold was born August 8, 1952 to Tommy and Thelma Louise Parr. He grew up in Houston, Texas and attended Reagan High School. Arnold spent his career as a Master Truck Driver, most of his years hauling cars for Toyota. Many of his peers and coworkers can attest to his expertise and experiences in moving cars across the country. His expertise and lessons will never be forgotten, nor will the life-long friendships that were forged through the years. In addition to seeing a country of beautiful scenery, there are legendary stories including outrunning tornadoes, surviving Bourbon Street, and rushing back from the Grand Canyon to save his house from forest fires that were raging towards his home in Magnolia. His off time was spent riding motorcycles and touring with many friends and family. He served the Lord through fellowship with others, including as a Deacon in his church in Magnolia. Arnold was loyal and took on many responsibilities most men would not even consider. Arnold married his wife, Valerie Ann Jackson, on September 15, 2012 and spent the last 11 years residing in Cypress, Texas. Arnold was the answer to Valerie’s prayers, and he loved her deeply. Together they were truly one and were a prime example of kindness and love to all that knew them. Arnold quickly became a foundational part of Valerie’s family and a big presence as a bonus dad to her son Colby Forrester and Christi Martin; and daughter Holly Moran and son-in-law Shay Moran. He also quickly gained the hearts of four grandchildren Lexleigh (27), Brett (23), Jacob (19) and Taylor (16). They all adored him, and he loved them as if they were his own. He was their biggest supporter, their protector, a counselor giving unlimited advice and always made each one feel like they were the most important person in the entire world. They are all blessed to have been impacted by his presence. There are no words to express how grateful the family is to the HCA ICU team who cared for him during his 23 days in ICU. Additional eternal thanks to the Heart to Heart Hospice Care who ensured a peaceful transition. We are blessed by a wealth of time by the Second Baptist Church of Cypress and Pastor Jon Davis of Common Ground Community Church of Katy who provided the spiritual support for the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Second Baptist Church Cypress, Common Ground Community Church, or Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation Donation. We appreciate the amazing support provided to the family during this difficult time. We can be in peace knowing when Arnold took his last breath on earth he was immediately in God’s presence and given a new and eternal body made by God. Out of respect for Arnolds wishes there will not be a service. The Addison family and staff of Magnolia Funeral Home extend condolences to the Parr family during this difficult time.
