Ann Widmann

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grammy, Ann Marie Maeder Widmann. She was born in Binghamton NY in 1933 and passed on 6/22/2024 in Tomball Tx, surrounded by her family. Ann grew up with her parents and one younger brother in Delmar NY. She was a cheerleader at Bethlehem Central High School, graduating in 1951. After graduation, Ann worked at a bank in Albany, NY. She met and married Frederick A. Widmann Jr. in 1953. They had three daughters: Paula, Julia, and Martha. While she worked part time at State Farm Ins., the three daughters grew up and finished high school in Horseheads, NY. After Ann and Fred were divorced, she went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She graduated from Elmira College Magna Cum Laude in 1982. She worked at Elmira Savings Bank in Elmira NY. In 1984 Ann moved to Spring, TX after the birth of her first grandchild. She held temporary positions in various banking institutions, including RTC during the 1980’s to assist closing Savings and Loans. She ushered at various venues. She retired from Tomball ISD accounting dept. in 1999. During retirement she worked at different cross stitch/needlework shops which supplied her “habit.” You would often find her cross stitching, quilting, and sewing. She enjoyed visiting antique and craft stores, as well as the Dollar Store. Ann was an active member in her church, Rose Hill Methodist, and attended as often as she could. When she was no longer able to attend, she would live stream the services every Sunday morning. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd A. Maeder and Dorothy M. Beilman Maeder. She is survived by her brother, Douglas E. Maeder and his wife Charlotte Maeder of Delmar, NY; her three daughters and their spouses, Larry and Paula Chatman, Eleazar and Julia Ovalle, Rick and Martha Badgley; grandchildren, Nick and Josie Chatman, Matt and Melissa Chatman, Alfredo and Leah Garcia, David and Ashley Chatman, Rebekah Chatman and Isaac Ovalle along with eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann lived a full life full of joy, laughter, and no regrets. She was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always put her family first. Her heart and time were always open to friends and family, and she welcomed everyone with open arms and a warm smile. Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever. We take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus and suffers no more pain. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rose Hill Methodist Church, Tomball, TX. Rest in peace, Mom, Grammy. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
