Alice Riley

Alice Faye (Wilkinson) Riley was born in 1936 in Hedley, Texas and passed away on March 31, 2024 in Magnolia, Texas at the age of 87. Alice met James “Buddy” Riley when Buddy was in the US Army, and came home on leave with Alice’s brother Harry. Following a short courtship the two married on June 24, 1955. The couple were blessed with two sons, Brad and Charlie, and were married for 45 years when Buddy passed away in 2000. Alice was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Hands Touching Hands, The Friendship Center, and Magnolia Historical Society until her health prevented her from doing these activities. One of her favorite hobbies was to help make quilts to be auctioned off for fundraisers. Alice listed the things she thanked God for every day: First of all, Alice was thankful for God, and that He was number one in her life. Just after that, she was thankful for having such a loving husband in Buddy, who ensured that she was able to take care of herself independently. She was thankful to have been blessed with her two sons and five grandchildren, but somehow those 10 great-grandchildren were really her pride and joy! She was thankful for, and enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Friendship Center. She loved her church, pastor and Sunday school class, as well as the Ruth class. Alice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Buddy Riley and parents George and Lola Wilkinson along with 9 siblings. Alice is survived by her sons Brad Riley and wife Denise, Charlie Riley and wife Deanne, grandchildren: Rip Riley and wife Kim, Jared Riley, Alicia Curry and husband David, Bradley Riley and wife Chelsea, Nikki Phillips and husband TJ, great-grandchildren: Kynlee Curry, Karlee Curry, Bryton Riley, Reagan Riley, Kade Curry, Jace Riley, Reese Phillips, Riley Phillips, Landry Riley, and Kole Curry.
