Margie Louise Watson

Margie Watson, 79, passed away on August 17, in Humble, Texas. Margie loved taking pictures and collecting them from all her family members. She had a ton of picture albums and thousands of pictures in Google Photos. By looking at her pictures anyone could see the things in life she loved most were her husband Don, her children and grandchildren, cooking and gardening. She also loved holiday seasons and family gatherings. Margie worked as a business office manager in the medical field and a small business owner where she owned a bakery and ice cream shop. She started her business, Cakes by Margie, in Woodforest Hallmark Card Shop. Later she built a bakery on Uvalde Street where she expanded her cake business and added kolaches, cookies and wedding cakes. She loved her job and enjoyed helping customers design custom cakes for special events in their lives. She naturally loved cooking and creating recipes that were unique and people would enjoy. Margie and Don married on May 6, 1961 after dating for 6 months. They were married for almost 60 years. They raised three sons and adored their grandchildren. Margie was a Christian and loved the Lord. She and her family attended Royalwood Baptist Church where they served for many years. Later in life they attended Faith Bible Church. Those who met Margie realized very quickly that she loved people and showed Christ’s love to them. Margie was a compassionate woman that had many friends and loved the community she lived in. She also knew this world was not her forever home. She looked forward to the day where she would be in heaven with her Lord and Savior. The last several years have been difficult as Margie’s dementia robbed them of some of their morning coffee discussions and work in the garden. The highlight of Margie’s day at Rosemont Assisted Living was when Don visited her, which was almost everyday. He would often bring Margie her favorite flower, yellow roses. On August 17, 2021, with her loved ones around her for days, Margie succumbed to her dementia, went to be with the Lord, where she is now in heaven with Don, the love of her life.
